Dosti Labs ("Dosti", "we", "us") builds a voice-first tool that helps people practise speaking a language. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what the product needs to help you learn.

Information we collect

• Your speech during a session. While you talk with Dosti, your voice is streamed to our language provider and converted to text so the tutor can respond and so we can estimate your level. We store the text transcript of the conversation.
• Learning data. Your estimated level, progress over time, streak, and the words you have practised.
• Account information, if you sign in. If you create an account with a phone number, we store that phone number to identify you and save your progress.
• Basic technical data. Standard information needed to run the service, such as session timing and error logs.

How we use it

• To hold the conversation and respond to you in real time.
• To estimate your level and adapt future conversations to you.
• To save your progress so you can pick up where you left off.
• To keep the service working, secure, and reliable.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to advertise to you.

Service providers

We share data with a small set of providers only so the product can function. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Voice and language processing (to run the conversation and understand your speech).
• Cloud hosting and database storage (to run the service and store your progress).
• Real-time audio transport (to carry the call between your browser and the tutor).
• Phone verification, if you sign in with a phone number.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your transcripts and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time and we will remove it, subject to any limited records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Children

Dosti is not directed to children under the age required by the laws of your country. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@dostilabs.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
