Dosti Labs ("Dosti", "we", "us") builds a voice-first tool that helps people practise
speaking a language. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
We collect only what the product needs to help you learn.
Information we collect
Your speech during a session. While you talk with Dosti, your voice is streamed in real
time to our voice provider and converted to text so the tutor can respond and so we can estimate
your level. We store the text transcript of the conversation.
A short recording of your voice, only if pronunciation scoring is turned on. This
optional feature captures a recording of what you said during a session and sends it to our
pronunciation-scoring provider for sound-by-sound analysis. The recording is deleted once it has
been scored. We keep the resulting scores (for example, "your 'th' sound could use practice"),
not the recording itself.
Learning data. Your estimated level, progress over time, streak, the words you have
practised, and any words you choose to save to your personal dictionary.
Account information, if you sign in. Depending on how you choose to sign in, we store
your phone number, or your name and email address from Google or Apple sign-in. If you tell us
your name, we store it so Dosti can greet you by it.
Push notification details, if you turn on reminders. If you allow notifications, we
store the technical subscription details needed to send you one. You can turn this off at any
time in your account settings.
Billing information, if you subscribe to Dosti Pro. We store your subscription status
and renewal date. Your payment details, such as your card number, are handled directly by
Stripe, our payment processor, and we never see or store them ourselves.
Basic technical data. Standard information needed to run the service, such as session
timing and error logs.
How we use it
To hold the conversation and respond to you in real time.
To estimate your level and adapt future conversations to you.
To save your progress so you can pick up where you left off.
To keep the service working, secure, and reliable.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to advertise to you.
Service providers
We share data with a small set of providers only so the product can function. They process data
on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
Voice and language processing (to run the conversation and understand your speech).
Pronunciation scoring (to analyse a short recording of your voice against native-speaker
sounds, only if you have this feature enabled).
Cloud hosting and database storage (to run the service and store your progress).
Real-time audio transport (to carry the call between your browser and the tutor).
Sign-in verification (phone number, or Google/Apple, depending on how you choose to sign in).
Push notifications (to deliver reminders you have chosen to receive).
Payment processing (Stripe, only if you subscribe to Dosti Pro).
Data retention and deletion
We keep your transcripts and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to
provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time and we will remove it, subject
to any limited records we must keep for legal or security reasons. To request deletion, contact us

Voice recordings captured for pronunciation scoring are kept only long enough to be scored, then
deleted automatically, typically within a short time of your session ending. We do not keep the
recording afterward, only the score.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption
in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Children
Dosti is not directed to children under the age required by the laws of your country. If you
believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal
information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the
date at the top of this page.
